Alright... So the due date is in two days but I haven't heard anything from anyone. Is anyone gonna be submitting? Kinda thinking we put the comps on hiatus since it seems interest has died.
I wasn’t planning to submit for this one, probably not for the next few tbh. Life stuff. Nothing wrong, just tough finding the time or energy. I’m good with taking a hiatus
Oops, I didn't get any notifications for this thread since the announcement. I started doing a cover of "Passenger" by Adult Mom, but can just hang onto that if we're not going to get a comp together this week.
Alright, sorry for being late updating this. I moved this past weekend, got my ass beat in a Smash tourney on Monday, and have just been unpacking and getting used to my new area since. That said, I think I'm gonna put a pause on these comps. Between the low turnout the past few and just the amount I have going on in life right now, I don't think it's worth it to keep going at the moment. I'm definitely open to bringing the comps back in some form in the future though. I don't know what that will look like, but maybe this summer I'll have an idea to throw out to all of you. Anyways, thanks everyone for your submissions this past year! I genuinely love all the comps I've gotten to make with you guys and still return to them fairly regularly. If any of you ever wanna share something you're working on with someone, I'm always down to check it out if you post it here or in a dm.
I know this is, uh, short notice, but I'm putting together another charity compilation for my label. It's all short songs (less than 90 seconds). Sort of like Short Music For Short People, but slightly less short. If you're missing the Chorus comps, you might be interested in submitting a track for this one.
Sadly I've had literally no time for music since starting my current job, but I'm really excited to hear this one.
Obvi I’ll be submitting to this! Gonna try to write and record a brand spanking new jam for it before I go out of town on Friday.
I was hoping you'd submit something! Most of your songs already fit the criteria for the comp, so it's a perfect fit.
Hi everyone! I miss doing these and had an idea. There’s a lot of cool music celebrating a 20th anniversary this year. How many people would be interested in doing a “Best of 2002” covers compilation?
I’d appreciate so much if you ran these again if interest is there. They were super fun, but my health is genuinely too bad right now for me to run it anymore.
No worries, friend! Take care of yourself. I’d be happy to take the reins again. Maybe we can do a couple a year rather than one or two a month or whatever the hell we were doing before when these comps were thriving haha.
Let’s dip our toesies in and do a compilation of our favorite covers we’ve submitted to previous comps! 2 to 3 per user? Whatever covers you are the most proud of. thoughts??
Last year around June/July I was planning on throwing the idea of doing these like 2 times a year so I’m down with that idea. And I’d also be down to submit some old favorites.
I would honestly have a blast re-recording some of my old covers, but unfortunately I’m like suuuuper not set up to do so right now and probably won’t be for a while. Wouldn’t be opposed to re-submitting some old faves though since the old Bandcamp is gone!
We really nailed it this year!!!!! Ok jk. But I would love to get these going again in 2024, or something similar, to keep our creative juices oozing through our bodies and fingers. My band frick is doing a project right now where are getting musicians of a bunch of random genres to cover songs of our for a compilation cassette that we will be putting out early 2024. If any of you babes are interested in a submitting a cover, I'd love to have you on it as well! So far we've gotten interest from EDM producers, metalcore bands, and everything in between, so nothing's off the table. If you've got some weird experimental Celctic nu-metal ideas you've been wanting to play around with, now's the time haha.
I would love to get this started up again! I went like 2 years without touching any of my equipment, but recently started getting into it again. I subscribed to the STL Tones plug in packs, which sound great, but I'm realizing with my Focusrite Scarlett Solo that if I'm trying to record a song with too many plugins going, it just goes haywire. Anyone else face an issue like this? Thinking its time I upgrade my audio interface. Any suggestions?
