I'm slightly worried if we do it'll drop interest in submitting, but I just went through some shit in my personal life and probably need a little time to process. If you guys would rather keep it as is, that's cool too. I might not have a submission, but I can still compile and post everyone's stuff.

I have a little bit of progress on mirrorball. Gonna be leaving next week for Portland for a week though so if I don’t kick into a higher gear before then I might be in deadline trouble

 

Nah, originals due a week after Best of 2020. Just a thing for production time. I don’t know that we’ll be doing two at once again in the future though, definitely see how it can add confusion.

If “cramming at the last second” isn’t the spirit of these comps, I don’t know what is.

 

When is the deadline again? I thought it got pushed a bit? I’ve started mine but only have some drums down.

Little update on originals: the due date is the same, but depending on submission numbers, I'll be opening them up for people outside the forum once the Best of 2020 is squared away. I don't know how to gauge the number of submissions I'll be getting, so worst case, you guys can invite friends to join in. As always, friends are allowed to submit covers so you can invite anyone to submit a cover for the Best of 2020 if you know people who would be interested (bonus points if you get them to become members).

 

I'm definitely planning on submitting for the originals comp.
I'm most likely going to do a last minute cover for the Best of 2020 comp.

 

About 85% finished drum tracking for my cover. Normally I’d wait til I finish before starting guitars, but getting tones for this one is gonna be tricky. Really wanna capture the dreamy vibe of mirrorball without things getting too washed out. So, onto tonesville

Good news is I think I’m over the motivation hump that I get stuck in a lot with these cover comps

I finally got the drive to work on submissions. Just finished up the first mix/master of my originals submission. Just have to do guitar and mixing/mastering on the cover now.
