I always have this issue - why do my tracks sound so low? Should I not check the "normalize" box in logic when bouncing? I have no idea what I am doing ever but I would love to be at the same level as everyone else when bouncing tracks.

Oh well, I got some songwriting done last week and did my first open mic. Premiered 2 songs from my rock opera cause why not

Work commitments got me hard this weekend which ruined my chances of entering anything. One day I'll get something into one of these.

Just going to throw out some names of bands that, imo, would make for v cool comps: The Weakerthans (or just John K Samson at a high level), Against me!, Kevin Devine, Joyce Manor, The Front Bottoms, The Menzingers, or Title Fight.

I honestly can't believe the last Halloween comp we did was THREE YEARS AGO!!! What the hell? Where does time go? Seriously.

Let's do another Halloween one next! That one was so fun. I recorded my track in a cemetery in the middle of the night. I think I'll do that again.

I thought I had a cover of Tegan and Sara's Waking With A Ghost ready to go, but all i found are The Ocean and Nineteen, which don't fit the theme. I guess I'll see if I can record it by the deadline. Unless I can come up with a better idea.

I'm almost tempted to do the Angel theme, but it wouldn't be a very interesting rendition, just me on a piano haha
