If we do winter I might try and tackle Linus and Lucy. My mom embedded that whole Guaraldi soundtrack into my head as a kid, could be fun.

 

i've made it clear how i feel about the winter theme and fob lol. oh well. looks like i'll likely be sitting another out.

i guess somewhat. the winter theme seems naturally tied to christmas, at least to me.

I'd consider doing any of those options. I already wrote an anti-Trump song, have a song about winter of late 2015-early 2016 already made, and could definitely try to throw together a rough FOB cover.

Lol really?? I mean idk, we would be celebrating their art. Of course we would sing it like we normally would but I doubt it would make it more "masculine"...

 

I think my natural ignorance would mean I'd need someone to coach me through the bands/artists I can choose from.

 

I don't think that masculinity is restricted to/used only by white males..Also, referencing previous comps, I really don't think you have to worry about anyone bastardizing thoughts or feelings intended by the original artists. I don't believe anyone would have those intentions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

not too worried about white males making them sound masculine (what even is a masculine sound?) but am concerned about the participation being primarily white males as usual. would strongly like more women / queer folks / people of color to participate in these comps but not sure how to go about doing that. i think more diversity in the bands we cover would help though.
