Even after planning what I'd do for Drive-Thru, I couldn't decide on a song even to start on. With Oldies, I'm spoiled for choice and it would just be easier.

I think I'm gonna do these two:

"I Can't Let Go" by The Hollies
"In My Room" by The Beach Boys

But mannnnn, I really think covering "Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies would be so fun! ...My songs might change, haha.

I'm thinking about maybe joining in on this one. One of my favorite songs of all time is an oldie, and I used to know how to play it on my ukulele, but I haven't been playing much lately. I also can't sing to save my life, and have no experience recording.

But my wife and kids will be out of town for 10 days starting next weekend, so I'll have lots of time to try and figure it out.

If I can put something together that I like during that time (and nobody else takes the song) then I'll definitely submit it.

Any recommendations on a decent but inexpensive mic for recording an acoustic instrument and my voice?

I don't want to be that guy who does Wish You Were Here, but it's really the only oldie I know how to play.. hmm, gonna have to do some Neil Young or Beatles digging.

Any chance I can call While My Guitar Gently Weeps for now and I'll give it up if I find I can't pull out off?

Actually I'm just gonna call a couple right now just in case. I'll let one or the other go (or both) based on how I'm feeling about them in a week.

Ben E. King - Stand By Me
    Jackson 5 - I Want You Back

Aretha Franklin is also calling my name real hard. Guys, why am I so indecisive

  18. I did a Sinatra cover on one of the comps recently, I can't remember which one, haha. I basically re-wrote the song though so I didn't have to feel ashamed for covering Frank. :-)

put me down for "I Put A Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins please

I'll probably call out a second song once this one is done.

This is becoming a VERY tough decision to make. A lot of the songs I want to do are EPIC (Bohemian Rhapsody, Bold As Love, Kid Charlemagne, Misirlou)... don't know if I should even attempt these.

I'm going to spend the next couple of days playing around with my top choices... then I guess I'm just going to have to go all in. pick 2 and work really hard...

This'll prove to be a lot more challenging than a DTR comp would've been!

EDIT: I'm DEFINITELY going to do a cover of Here Comes The Sun (The Beatles) and when I finish that I'll pick 1 (or 2) more to do.

Honestly I'm sort of dreading a DTR one because I don't think I'll be able to make a decision at all. There are just so many songs that I'd want to try my hand at
