I'm out. Sorry. I can't find the time to record. Like, I'm literally sending this while I'm on a toilet break at work.

Edit: I have the instrumental recorded, but I won't be able to record my vocals. Just don't have the time.

 

Only had 20 minutes tonight to record mine. I may find some time sunday morning to mix it a little, but yeah.....this won't be my best work haha

I'm still working on Gasoline and hope I'll get it in tonight or tomorrow. It was a bad pick for me because I can't scream, so I'm trying to be experimental with it. Just not super happy with how it sounds yet.

 

I have the 2nd to the 12th of October off from work, so if the next compilation can be due after the 12th of October, I'll be able to submit with no issues.

1. redwing91007 - Sowing Season
This was one of the songs I've spent the longest with for these comps. Not 100% happy with how it came out but damn close. Ended up having 4 vocals tracks, 7 guitar tracks, drums, and bass. Curious to hear people rip apart!

2. @JakeRabin - Jude Law And A Semester Abroad
Keeping the energy high with track 2. Super dead-on rendition of the original, you crushed it! Production is on point too, you can tell you put some serious hours into this one.

3. @TedSchmosby - The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows
I was fully expecting this to be an acoustic rendition for some reason and you didn't disappoint. I really like the "distant" vocals you layered in.

4. @manoverboard365 - The No Seatbelt Song
Exactly as I was expecting this to sound, which is a good thing. Good job on this one.

5. @Jesse West - Missing You
I liked the harmonies/effects on the vocals, could have even had it higher up in the mix. It's clear you had some fun with this. The only criticism I'd give you, grab a pop-filter, they are life-savers!

6. @xkhiemster - The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot
At first, I thought you were just recording in a noisy place, then I realized it's a backing track haha.

7. JakeRabin - Mene
I like how you switched up the intro riff, then it came slamming in for the verse. Another crazy solid cover - you're killing this comp!

8. @hermanthehermit - Sealed To Me
We now have a studio version of STM haha! Good job, especially that bridge!

9. @therookielot - Magazines
Some of these effects were interesting haha, I'm curious to know what you used.

10. @Jdaniels - Mixtape
Simple, on-point rendition and really well mixed/produced. Good stuff.

11. TedSchmosby - Out Of Range
That guitar sounds great - like we're in the room with you. Great job again with the harmonies.

12. JakeRabin - Seventy Times Seven
I was almost surprised to see you went this style with it. That being said, it worked really well. It was cool hearing a refreshing take on a song I've been hearing one way forever. What do you use for drums btw? They sound great. Curious about your gear as a whole actually, you consistently have some of the best-produced tracks on here.

13. redwing91007 - Could Never Be Heaven
Just realized this was the only SciFi song to make the comp. Makes me regret not having time to do Waste too, maybe for the "best of" at the end of the year I'll revisit it.

14. @ricklightning - Handcuffs
This sounded SO full, great job.

15. xkhiemster - Play Crack The Sky
Wait, maybe you are just recording outside. I can't tell. I give up.

16. TedSchmosby - Brother's Song
Vocals really stood out on this one, you can hear the emotion really well. You had 3 of my favourites on the comp for sure!

17. therookielot - Limousine
Onto the closer and damn it's a long one! Again with some of these effects lol. So much going on.

Overall, this is one of my favourite comps! I'm biased since I knew every song going in but it helped me hear what different elements everyone was bringing in. Good stuff!

Got it! And updated the track list! Weird that it got lost in the interwebz, but I'm glad you caught it.

 

Truth be told this is the first thing I've actually spent any real time messing with the mastering/production. I think I'll be doing a lot more recording so I'm definitely gonna invest in a pop filter and a mic stand haha.
