I keep writing original beds for my blind cover, and then wanting to use them for my originals.

 

Yeah, a two song EP is definitely going to closely follow this blind cover.

 

Ohh I wanna make my return to these comps! I haven't done one in like a year but I finally got my recording gear back and am itching to record something.

I know we still have this one to complete, but anyone have ideas for next month's mixtape?

 

I'd love to do an originals mixtape again.

 

I was kind of hoping we'd do originals next month. I didn't take part in Volume 1 and next month will be the last thing we collectively do before I hit 1 year of home recording. I've only been doing these covers so, I think I'm ready to finally write something fresh. It'd be a great way to show the progress I've made since @bradsonemanband and you all got me addicted to home recording last year.

...or a Drive-Thru comp.

 

An originals comp would be a good chance to field test a new track off of the EP I've been grinding myself into the ground over.

 

I am completely fine with either of these. Drive-Thru comp would be so great. So many great options too

 

Don't forget the Female Artists comp idea. We should put them all to a vote, of course, but personally I feel like Originals and Drive-Thru can wait. (The Foreign Language comp idea was also floating around.)

I'd have a hard time deciding what band to cover for this one..

Over the last year I've really gotten into Crying, Camp Cope, Tancred, and Good Luck.

However, I wouldn't be opposed to doing another Paramore song.

 

i still need to start my death cab cover too... haha

 

I am putting it off, as always! I wanted to invest in a mic so I don't have to record everything A la imic lol. I think I have an sm57 lying around, so a mic stand would likely do..

 

I don't see this recommended often with the SM58 and SM57 microphones, but I love how much more usable they are when run with a cloudlifter:

Hype Songs / Bedtime Songs Mixtape (pick one... either uptempo "hype songs" or soothing "bedtime songs")
An April Fools / Bad Mixtape (top 40 rock a la Nickelback, Creed, Kid Rock, etc / one-hit wonder pop a la Right Said Fred, La Bousch, Aqua, etc / "trend" songs a la What Does The Fox Say? / Gangam Style / any song with a dance attached to it)

Definitely female artists, then an originals I'd say.
