My question is more, do we sing in the foreign language or do we translate as part of our cover?

 

I mean, if it were me deciding the rules, I'd say both. I'll probably sing in a different language because I'm a glutton for embarrassment.

 

I like the idea, schematics would have to be worked out though.

 

The collab one would be difficult but rewarding

Oh dang, Death Cab started winning out of nowhere. It was going to The Beatles the last time I checked. I didn't plan on doing Death Cab until (next) winter, but I can work with this.

 

if Death Cab wins, I might do a blind cover (because I haven't really listened to anything other than Kintsugi and Narrow Stairs)

 

I really hope Death Cab wins, always wanted an excuse to record a cover of "Lightness" - providing no one else goes for it/wants it/gets there first of course. Be the first artist comp I'll have wanted to and be able to join in on for a while.

If Death Cab wins I'll let everyone else decide first and then grab hold of a song. They have been my favorite band for the last 15 years or so, thereby I feel confident that I'm familiar with whatever I land on. :P

 

On my own, I think I'll be doing We Looked Like Giants, Summer Skin, and Cath... but for the first two so far I only know the bass parts, and We Looked Like Giants looks really complicated. I know how to play a couple of other songs; I could do A Lack of Color instead, since I really want to try my hand at something on Transatlanticism.

 

Fucking hell, wanna do the rest of the discography too? Haha.

I want We Looked Like Giants.

 

I don't think I've ever been so excited for a comp. Passenger Seat is a song that resonates with me on such a personal level. I already know I'm gonna try and fiddle around with a cool guitar arrangement with a lot of reverb. Can't wait to hear everyone else's stuff too!

 

I've got some ideas for what I wanna do with my cover too! I just have to figure out which song to do... haha
