(Even though I'm awful and have missed out on the past 4-5 compa that I've meant to participate on)

1. @Ugly Mug - Interlude: Holiday
I love this noisy power pop sounding version you created. The production reminds me very much of stuff like earlier Cloud Nothings or Yuck.

2. @bradsonemanband - Pressure
Awesome rendition as always! You made this old school Paramore song sound even more old school akin more to late 90s/ early 00s emo like Brandtson.

3. @thesoftskeleton - All I Wanted
Wow, this one must have been really though doing the vocals for! Great job! The less intense parts reminded me a lot of Chelsea Wolfe in how reverb drenched and "far away" everything sounds.

4. @elemenohpe - That's What You Get
What a cool sounding version! Good job on double tracking those vocals. I liked the full sound you got from doing that.

5. @t_papaccio - Misguided Ghosts
This might be my favorite of the bunch! I even think that I like your simple acoustic arrangement more than the more intricate finger picking of the original. You make it sound so much more vulnerable.

6. @hermanthehermit - The Only Exception
Really good job! Those strings filled in really nice and made the song move forward in a really nice way.

7. ricklightning - Ain't It Fun
I basically knew from the start where I wanted to go with the arrangement (I was sure that I wanted to try and fake the sound of lap steel guitar!), but was dreadfully slow at actually starting to record. All in all I am quite pleased with how it turned out, but I would had recorded new vocals if I remixed it. All the vocals was done at night just before sending the finished file and was afraid of waking the neighbors. Not the ideal situation to say the least and I need to get less optimistic with time and start planning better.

8. @Damien Davies - Decode
I like the effect heavy sound you managed to get from the guitar. Reminded me of some of the clean guitars on Siamese Dream (Luna for example).

9. @Jdaniels - Misery Business
Of all the songs chosen on here this was the song that I expected the least of hearing an acoustic version of. Really good job! I figure the verses must have been hard doing with all those "wordy" vocals.

10. @redwing91007 - Ignorance
Is that a synthesizer I hear blended with the guitar at about 03:12 in the song, or is it a effect heavy guitar part? Really liked how you managed to get that sound!

11. @xkhiemster - Emergency
Cool with having a piano intro! Really surprised me when the song took an entirely different direction at the minute mark.

 

Yup! I had 2 synth tracks going for the "lead guitar" part of the solo. Figured it would be something a little different. Still have the guitar playing the rhythm though. I kept one synth track going throughout the rest of the song too.

As always I love all the suggestions and I'll refrain from voting! Thanks for the kind words. I'm always floored by the talent that fills these comps and Brad always has a good spot to throw my little acoustic covers in.

 

I thought of a sort of fun and interesting idea for a future comp...

One where each of us pair up with someone else and we collaborate on a cover. Could be cool!
