@elemenohpe Thank you for your kind words! I've recently been trying to get better at mixing, so I found this comp to be a great and fun challenge for myself, and I will definitively try to be a part of future ones.

Regarding "Aphasia", that wall of sound consists mostly of lots of tracks I recorded with my e-bow. Lots of deliberate feedback. Lots of fun recording. :D

 

I've always wanted one of those things. I actually threw one on my Christmas list last year... didn't happen. I just never liked it enough to shell out the dough for it. That's good to know though... it could be a lot more useful on some of my covers than MIDI keyboards and VST plugins. I've got a great amp (I use it for the Childish Gambino cover on this comp... not the IHOW one). I could probably do a lot with an Ebow.

 

There is a story;
Brad will tell you that I submitted about 7 versions of this. I hated my vocal takes in every one of them. Including this one, but this one was the only one where the vocals fitted, and why? Lots of reverb and retakes of parts. So yes. It's an effect. Still not 100% happy with it either.

 

Ebows are totally worth it, especially for recording. You can get tons of textures with them, even if you're just looking for ambience to put low in the mix

from what I understood it was a 'high end' estimate. I really hope it won't cost $15 to ship my vinyl from Utah to North Carolina... but if it does whatevs.
