This one doesn't quite go where I expected to when I first heard it, and I appreciate it for that.

 

Remember that dumb review that was like, one of the songs starts with "There are parts of me stuck inside the grocery", but that song is not "The Grocery"?

the synth in lead is one of my favorite parts of the album, it's weird that manchester isn't huge on radio with that. it's just familiar enough but also way better than a lot

 

This song is probably in my bottom half of the album tbh but I think it's a great song. When it finally breaks into the chorus I am always jamming.

 

Was it the same one that said the echo in "The Parts" made it less intimate when it in fact made it MORE intimate?

 

this album def reminds me of SF when it comes to all the neat little flourishes/samples/electronic effects that are sprinkled throughout definitely enhances the experience. Both records are absolute must to be listened front to back to get the full experience

 

That guitar lead in the intro sounds so creepy, and sets the tone for the whole song. I love it!

 

I heard a sound that was paranormal. Freaked me out a bit.

 

Might've been. But I think they also said, or at least implied, that the echo was artificial, when it's clearly not.

 

Haven't listened to individual songs off of either since they've come out. Both of them front to back every time

 

The kick back to loud is pretty sick

 

"Microscopic specks of love being raptured to you" is a really cool line

 

I don't know what "I'm a clock and a balance beam" means, but I love it.

 

You all ready for the 1-2-3 punch of the Alien-the Sunshine-the Grocery?

 

My favorite 3-song stretch on any album this year.

 

I love this bit at the end when they mess around with the timings

 

Radiohead vibes during the Alien!!

 

To be honest. If it weren't for the music video The Alien really wouldn't have had much of an effect on me.

I was really like uhh what. When it was released as a single

 

The Alien has grown on me A LOT since I first got into the album. Not that I ever disliked it, but I really appreciate it for just how stunning of a song it really is now.

 

"If you don't move I swear to you I'm gonna make you" fucks. me. up.

 

Still don't think it's tremendous live. But the choruses on the record and the transition to Sunshine is lovely

 

The Alien floored me the first time I heard. I'm surprised some people STILL aren't sold on it

 

i definitely hear this, but a more accessible version ( more immediately likable)

 

Yeah it's so hard not to when almost every tracks blends seamlessly into the next just makes me want to hear it in order only
