The single vocal the kick off the final chorus is really beautiful

 

"I hate you momma"

 

Can't remember who said it, and who to credit for it, but "The Moth" has some Circa Survive feel to it.

 

Is it confirmed to be "I hate you Mommy"? I know it's Mayzie at a music recital.....also this song belongs in a movie soundtrack for sure. Some chase at night

 

The first time I listened to the album I definitely didn't expect a song as... spooky as The Moth to follow The Gold.

 

the gold is so fucking good i love that intro

 

love the bass parts at the beginning of the moth. one of the top tracks for me. Also drumming rules on this song so subtle but effective

 

Andy said this song was about a fight between two brothers

The very subtle synth in the chorus is pretty cool. The entire chorus is pretty classic MO, I think.

 

Again more beautiful harmonies in the chorus(.fm)

 

went for it, the vibe is JARRING haha

 

I love the way Andy puts an inflection when he says die and lie and high. Very breathy

 

Those vocals right around 3:05 kind of scared me the first time I listened haha. And then ripping right into the bridge and then back into the final chorus is awesome. Lots of momentum.

 

so much going on in the song I think that's what I like most about it

 

No lie. I sing like Andy when I sing Manchester songs. Same with marcus for Mumford songs lol. The accents come out

This passage makes me think one of the brothers this song is said to be about is an addict of some kind, especially the bold section.

 

What does the child say between the last chorus and the putto, anyone?

Yep, this song has to be one of my favorites.

 

Said it my very first listen, and I'll say it again: Lead's opening guitar lead reminds me so much of "One Hundred Years" by the Cure in the best way possible!

 

the sense of space on this song is really something considering most of the time bands do that through not playing very much

 

Lead, SD was definitely the best choice to come after The Moth. Spooky song into another spooky song.


I really like the word spooky.

 

Idk why this song took SO long for me to get into. It's in my top 5 for the album now.

Probably all the electronic sounds

It was jarring on first listen

 

Intro still does nothing for me :/
