In the end it may have been a blessing in disguise because I didn't overplay it. This album still sounds so fresh to me everytime I listen to it.
So to give insight why Damage is so high for me, it came out right after my fiance called off our wedding 9 days before the wedding date. So JEW writing and releasing a "grown up" break up album was perfect timing for me. It hit me so hard. The emotional attachment I have to that album just lifts it up so much. I ended up marrying the same girl two years later.
"Pain" is still/currently my favorite song on the album, just because I played it on repeat so many times in THUG 2 lol. This album is so good though.
"If only you could see The stranger next to me" This is how I felt when my first marriage was coming to an end. I even said something like that to my ex
This song gives me the feels. The subtle strings in the background. Goosebumps all around. It has always hit me hard this one especially.
I’m meant to be picking my girlfriend up from work right now, but she’s been held up for a bit. Just means I get to stay and listen with you guys!
Yeah wish there was more songs like Blues on Chase This Light. Definitely a darker one and makes me appreciate it that much more since it's only one on the record like that.
I've legitimately already had chills at least five times so far during this record, and we haven't even hit "23" yet
