My intention going into this was to see if it’d elevate the album from a good listen to understanding why everyone loved it so much and it wasa largely a success. Well done team.
I even think it'd be fun to revisit records we've already done in the future. Obviously we'll want to keep it fresh, but it'd be fun to come back and do another run of this album in a few months. I'm sure we'll all notice different things each time.
Oh you know its not a question of IF but WHEN this one and SF will be done. Let's not kid ourselves here. Thanks everyone for participating, this was fun. I will be making the poll for the next one shortly and maybe we can fit in the next listening party next week. Thinking of sticking with albums released in 2017 for now so feel free to nominate something. Next poll will be Circa, Phoebe and a new release to replace Manchester's spot
bummed it missed it! i only just got home from work! im sure @fenway89 is on the same boat, even though we picked one of the later times its still pretty early for us westerners haha
Thanks to you it was Manchester that we ended up doing. Your vote was the deciding vote after all lol
truth be told i have the new Circa album downloaded but still havnt listened to it another confession: Blue Sky Noise is the only Circa album ive ever connected with
I've never heard anything by Chelsea Wolfe but I nominate Hiss Spun. Really in the mood to discover something new.
Really upset I missed this one haha. I’m listening to dealer by foxing right now to get ready for Sunday’s show.
I’m sorry I missed this one too but I’ll try to make the next one. I leave work around 5 and I need to pick up my kids at their daycare by 6 so the timing just didn’t work. I’m going to read over everything though!
My meeting lasted for two hours, half of which could've easily been cut off. The client started talking about nude beaches by the end and I was sitting there thinking dude it's 5:45 right now let's wrap this thing up. Would've much rather have been listening to Manchester Orchestra :(
so how do we decide what we vote on next? have we talked about if this will be like a weekly thing or what?
I personally like the idea of one classic album, one new album from someone we're probably not all that familiar with, and one album from someone we all love. So basically now that MO is out, replace that with a "classic" album.
Yeah thats the goal. Every week if possible. Next poll could be Circa, Phoebe Bridgers and a 2017 release to take Manchester's place. Thinking of doing 2 or 3 rounds of 2017 releases and then switch it up. So far I nominated Chelsea Wolfe. Still waiting on other nominees or I can make the poll and decide what to include but was waiting to see what input you guys have first.
@KidLightning proposed this and I think I like this idea. But since 2017 is such a good year for new releases, I think doing a few more rounds of 2017 releases would be fun before moving on. I don't mind starting the new poll from scratch with 3 new choices. Thoughts anyone?
Couldn't make it this time but I'm excited to eventually nominate some albums that I absolutely love that I never see talked about here
Its totally flexible in here btw guys. The goal is to have fun. Personally i'd be open to revisit albums from last year next round since 2016 was such a good year too.
