Idea stolen from Brandon on AP. I really enjoy the idea of having a film once a week or so that everyone can watch or dissect. It's a great way to spur analytical conversation and broaden our viewing experiences and taste. Idk if Brandon is on here yet or not but everyone should jump back to AP to check out the one running there.
I'm pretty sure Brandon was waiting for more people to join up to start this for older films. Not sure if we have one running for newer/more recent stuff yet though
I would be interested in a newer one as well. Not that I have anything against old cinema, I just have no frame of reference really for a lot of the names of those eras and it felt incredibly daunting to just jump into that thread.
Also, not to shoot any ideas down, but I don't think the idea of separating old and new films is great. That was never the intention with mine, just how the picks worked out. I think the exciting part of something like this is seeing films you wouldn't see and for some people those films are older films.
Haha I didn't realize this was you when I first posted in here. But yeah, I'd totally be down. So, if people wanna do this, I can start taking PMs whenever and we can aim to kick off Monday or something.
