I"ve never beaten Ocarina of Time. I've gotten like half way through a couple times but put it down and then don't come back.
Its not that its not good but moreso ive lived almost my entire conscious life being told its the greatest game ever and it is not.
the effect of time and place with art is as valid as any art itself so i totally get it. if i played OoT when it was the next step forward in action adventure games id be right there with you im sure
That sounds about right. You were what, 12? Thats about when i started playing a lot of my all timers
If we judge games based on how good they were at their exact moments in time, it is one of the greatest. If not, then it’s not even the best 3D Zelda game.
It depends on what you care about. It's still the best Zelda game for me, best dungeons and story, every section of that game is so good. I just love the vibe. I still think Zelda is the best gaming franchise of all time though and Ocarina/MM is the peak. Ocarina would have been my pick for best game of all time before Bloodborne came out.
Thats fair. I first played it in like 2007. I never got Zelda games as a kid, always too expensive. Same with Donkey Kong.
I mean yeah I can see why some prefer it. Best story is MM to me and BotW and WW just play better than OoT and Mm I think, but that’s just me.
results: the number one seed in Portal 2 got destroyed by Ocarina. Mario 64 and Breath of the Wild advance by one vote each, and Pokemon beats Dark Souls. the first 2 quarterfinal matchups have been decided and it is so far 100% comprised of Nintendo-exclusive titles lmao. Ocarina of Time v Mario 64 is so spicy.
