Cholula or Tapatio?

I choose Tapatio.


Although most people I know personally choose Cholula. I know there's many other options out there, but this debate is between these two lovebirds.


What's your choice?

 

Cholula. Duh.

 

I can't decide. Both are so much better than sriracha.

 

Cholula seems to be the popular opinion. Cholula is sweeter tasting, whereas Tapatio has a more spicy/smokey flavor. Tap is where its at!!

 

There's enough room in my life for both.

 

I don't like either, really. I prefer Louisiana Hot Sauce or Frank's but I know they're different.

 

I've never heard of Tapatio but I love me some cholula.

If I'm eating something and gonna be dipping it in hot sauce, I usually go with Frank's or Crystal.

But lately, on Chipotle/Qdoba/anything I'm cooking with/gonna mix the sauce into, I use this stuff:

 

Just like you said, if I'm dipping i go for Frank's or Louisiana, but for anything mexican/tex-mex, I go for Tapatio. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the one you mentioned.

 

Sambal Oelek or nothing. Actually use Frank's Red Hot and Tapatio a lot.

 

I like Frank's Extra Hot. The Red Hot is too mild... doesn't really seem like hot sauce.

 

Too much of the extra hot makes the top of my head sweat. It's so weird.

 

lol that is unusual. I find that it makes me sweat and have to slow down, but it's just the right amount of burn.

Cholula oh so much. It's not even a hot sauce it's Mexican flavor ina bottle.

 

I had to read five replies before I got an idea of what either of those things were

it depends! cholula is not as spicy so on fresher flavored dishes i prefer it...if i am feeling lazy and making a frozen burrito then tapatio, it has more heat to mask the bad choice i made
