So who is behind that random 2 hour long doc that keeps popping up on YT?

is it official? Seems like it kind of ends abruptly before the start of 4th album.

Im a little surprised DRUGS have fallen off as much they have. Granted they are currently much closer to modern djenty-metalcore than they are to scene post-hardcore but their debut was huge and as we’ve seen with countless other bands your modern material isn’t what sells concert tickets. To say nothing of the fact that those newer albums are actually really good without being polarizing or too different. I wouldve guessed all that paired with Craig’s inherent draw would’ve counted for more.

 

I mean this respectfully (but maybe not): outside of The Only Thing You Talk About (which I think the OG Chiodos demo was way better, along with Stratovolcano Mouth) I don’t remember a single song off their debut

Wait I lied, I looked at the tracklist, I remember how horrible Sex Life is as well.

 

I think with how DRUGS really only lasted maybe 2 or 3 years total on the initial run, it really just ended up seeming like a flash in the pan supergroup for people. Obviously the debut did pretty well, but that's probably mostly because of people following Craig over from Chiodos combined with fans of all the other members involved coming on board. It matters more that all those members weren't involved than it does with Chiodos who had wider scene recognition for a longer period.

 

Laminated ET Animal is pretty good

 

The original DRUGS lineup was gold. The backing vocals/screaming and instrumentals were awesome.

So as we have established, Chiodos is currently comprised of the DRUGS band members, they are both the same band.

I bought tickets to armor for sleep/boysnightout instead of chiodos after all this drama. Fuck Craig (again)

 

I’m honestly just curious what in the world an acoustic Norma Jean set sounds like

 

Thermacare was originally a Chiodos song, so that I think still counts as Chiodos. However, this Craig + hired hands is not real Chiodos. The lip syncing reallllly was/is just so lifeless.

i guess on the bright side devil is pretty bad so theres no way this can be worse

 

So it’s going to be a DRUGS album, except with more chance of financial success for Craig due to the name?

 

I was so disappointed by how bad devil was, since I was a huge TFOT fan at the time
I really hoped bringing Thomas Erak into the fold was going to creating something worth listening to but alas, it was just, not great lol

 

yeah erak is a complete non presence on the album lol what a waste

its just all around such a colossal drop from illuminaudio. i have way more fondness for the other chiodos dudes than i do craig (obviously lmao) but even they really phoned it in there, easily the least compelling 'dos instrumentally for me. feels like they wrote a craig owens greatest hits album of all new songs, but i also know they were all pretty burnt and checked out by that point

 

I actually like Devil haha although Illuminaudio is still their best to me. Actually don't have as much of a soft spot for Bone Palace Ballet as most fans, it would probably be their last for me, something like Illuminaudio > All's Well > Devil > Bone Palace Ballet. Although I don't think it's bad by any means.

And yea saying there's a new album coming from them is pretty laughable at this point lol
