I mean it’s a bummer to see how cool the new tour looks, but it is what it is. I’d rather have him stick around as long as possible and more people be able to get to experience that. Plus he came down the stairs to the right of me and was singing less than 10 feet away for like half a song. Dude definitely doesn’t owe me shit. Lol. I hope he does come back and I have the means to go again.
Yeah exactly, I feel like this is a mistake alot of people make when booking flights. They see the "economy light" or "blue basic" options for like 20 bucks less and figure lets save a few bucks....until they realize that those type of tickets have a $100 fee for rescheduling.
This makes me even more annoyed that when I saw Willow at a record store appearance she only played for ten minutes. Ppl were rightfully pissed, some arrived late and completely missed her. I was fine with it at the time bc I was gonna see her open for Gambino. But now I'm not. (I'm not mad at Donald tho, obv)
I'm honestly really worried about him, the wording makes it sounds really scary... I hope he recovers well from whatever this is
I know it's been a very crowded year for new releases, and the tour got postponed, but I'm a little shocked how little of a splash this had. It's VERY good, people have been waiting a long time and he delivers. Maybe it's the lack of a big single? The other things I mentioned? The movie not having any plans?
I think everything got fumbled by his sickness. The trailer for "Bando Stone" advertises it as an IMAX event for 2024. That's definitely not happening. He only released one single that didn't really catch on in a major way. Sucks because it is a good album.
I also think that the sound that he really started blowing up in the mainstream with (Awaken My Love into This is America) wasn't really "him" in the sense that those were more experiments/deviations for him; this album really feels to me like a return to the original feel of his music from 2010-2014 when he still had more of a cult following while still keeping the stuff he learned on those projects intact This is a long-winded way of me stating the cliche of this album feeling like it's more for the fans than for the mainstream, but it does truly come across that way to me. I definitely agree that it still seems that he had bigger ambitions for it though with the movie and the giant tour (which was almost all sold-out arenas for what it's worth) and it's a shame we couldn't get his fully realized vision for it. It's still in my top three albums of the year
I like this album a lot but can’t stand the Amaarae features, not my thing at all. She kind of ruins the two songs she’s on, which are otherwise very good.
Yeah her features are bad. I’d also cut the song with his kid (which I swear feels ten times longer than it is) and the Khruangbin one
Was just about to post that. “They say everybody has two lives and the second life starts when you realize you have one…” ❤️
Wait so had a stroke then broke his foot or other way around? Either way wow. Glad he’s come out on the other side of a scary year.
