I wish I got floor tickets but I just got nosebleeds so I could be in the building. I was on the floor for his 2018 tour and on the rail of the catwalk at his coachella 2019 sets and it was amazing
Whoa! That placement at Coachella is lifetime achievement type stuff. I was up front for bit this tour by dumb luck. I was actually trying to social distance if you can believe it.
Sorry for the late reply but yes I am! I also panic bought VIP tickets so I should be able to get barrier or damn close to it too
Sorry for taking a couple days, I know you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for my verdict lol The show was absolutely fucking amazing. Incredible stage production, the setlist was absolutely perfect (I seriously never thought I would hear songs like Freaks and Geeks or Heartbeat live again) and he is just one of the best performers in the genre. I left the show so fucking happy, but also had a bittersweet feeling if this was really the last time. It’s a cliche to say at this point but it is unfair how talented this man is, all three times I’ve seen him have been some of the best shows I’ve ever seen and that’s just the career he basically does on the side. Also, VIP was worth every penny for views like this
(i'm not siding with either of them, I just find it amusing that there are two separate instances of them having it out in the comments)
I can imagine being upset/frustrated/disappointed in the circumstances but I can't imagine projecting my anger onto someone who simply isn't healthy enough to do the show, especially if he's planning on rescheduling. Like I get that not everyone can afford to cancel their flights/lodging and attend the reschedule, but the intention to do it is obviously there
It obviously sucks and I’d obviously be somewhat upset too, but if you’re blowing all that money for a concert (that could be cancelled or postponed for any reason and at any time) and don’t have a contingency plan, then that’s on you. These people just don’t fundamentally understand that they are paying to see human beings and not fucking gods. I’d rather have one of my favorite artists still around and be healthy than being so angry that I wish death on their family or some shit over a concert. Chappell made a business decision. Donald made a health decision. Both are valid. Both are things people make decisions about every day and don’t get treated like they spit directly in your face. I had to leave my last job for health reasons. No one treated me like the fucking antichrist over it. We really need to start pushing for mental health more because this fandom and parasocial relationship shit has already been way out of hand for too long. And if a cancelled trip is going to fuck your life up, then you shouldn’t be making that trip to begin with.
It's even more outrageous to be outraged at this artist given that he's already done everything he can to keep ticket prices legit and affordable for this tour. For ex., you weren't capable of listing them for re-sale after purchase via TM. For another ex., floor GA was only $75 a head before fees.
Maybe I should be outraged that I went to his last final tour and had an amazing time, just for him to do another even bigger one that I wasn’t able to go to. I’m not, but maybe I’ve earned that right and he owes me something for it. I should sue him for false advertising.
I don't have no sympathy for these people. But like. Aren't there refundable options for flights/lodging? So if a reschedule fucks up your shit that badly, isn't it then a case of poor planning?
