This feels like an anthology release which is so cool if this is the last LP he ever releases.

 

This is one of the most varied albums I've ever heard

Where is Saturday

 

I enjoyed this on first listen but you guys are really overhyping the variety. It’s a pop album with some rapping and varied production.

 

The chorus on Steps Beach sounds like the same melody as Saturday.

 

8 tracks in right now. Got To Me is absolutely wild, caught me completely off guard.

So far the only miss for me is Talk My Shit.

 

This is his best album.

 

pop albums can have variety though?

 

There's also 2-3 songs that debatably have some rock/indie influence, which is also totally new for him.

 

On track 13 now. We Are God definitely lifts from ideas of "We Are" that intro track from 3.15.20.

I will say, I'm very far removed from most modern hip hop, but is chipmunk-ing your voice while rapping a popular thing to do now?

just bought floor tickets and made travel plans for his show as a result of this interview. never seen him live so gotta do it

 

Im honestly in the same boat right now. His comments along the lines of “if you’re not blown away by the end of the first song, I’ll give your money back” got me so intrigued. He clearly wants to end this Gambino era on the highest high, and his live shows in the past were already great, so I feel like I can’t miss this.

That plus the fact that this is most definitely his best album.
