I missed it cause I got a phone call but I heard the first half of the beat which sounded great

 

It gets really incredible in the second half haha

 

Who would've thought Gambino would be bringing rock back to the mainstream like this in 2016?? Totally unexpected, I can't wait to play this over and over again.

I don't even know how to describe this haha... he'd played the song live a couple times and I've heard a really bad quality live leak of Pharos so I heard the track, but it's still crazy to actually hear it. It starts out really mellow for the first half, and then a really nasty distorted guitar comes in and he just goes OFF with some really gritty singing. No rapping.

 

This is the best thing he's done imo. He's a pretty good rapper but this is totally different for him and way more interesting to me.

 

Finally hearing this, this is so weird.

 

Also, I'm kind of glad he's moving on from rapping. After sober, he has too good of an ear for melody to pass up
