Redbone is rapidly moving up my list of SOTY

 

I have a weird feeling Redbones gonna be a crossover hit

 

This is really good.

 

I play this at work and get compliments all day.

 

I never really liked Gambino before (not really into hip-hop/rap), but I really like "Awaken, My Love" a lot. I think the R&B sound works really well for him.

I was (sort of) wrong about this one. And it felt really good to finally write about that at length.

"Awaken, My Love" is still the only Gambino I'm like, really into. (Though, I suppose I've never been one for hip-hop/rap, so that's not really surprising)

This album is really good though!

 

This still didn't top Because the Internet for me but I love it

 

I like Awaken, My Love but my favorite project is still Kauai. I was really hoping for a full length in a similar vein.

 

This still grows on me with each listen

 

Kind of a bummer he didn't promote this at all. No music videos, no tour, only one Late Night appearance. Redbone should've been a massive hit

 

I heard Redbone a lot on my local radio station.

 

Awaken is inconsistent, but when it hits, it really hits. Me and Your Mama and Redbone are two of the best songs of 2016.

 

It certainly takes some getting used to

 

I still don't think it's a very good album, I never have any desire to slug through the whole album

 

I come back to this more than I ever anticipated I would, but I still think there are some moments that are baaad (mostly ill-fated stylistic decisions regarding the vocals)

 

I listened to this once and never felt any desire to return to it

 

I only listen to Redbone.

 

I'm starting to hear Redbone everywhere, it's still gaining popularity. Being in Get Out probably helped but I don't think it's hit its peak yet. If he somehow finds the time to make a video that will increase it even more

 

Anyone know if there is something (featured on a show or commercial, or otherwise?) that Redbone is climbing up the charts now? After 23 weeks, the song has cracked the Top 40 this week, charting at #36 on the Hot 100 right now.

Get Out is a big part of it I'd imagine, idk if there's other uses of it also.
