Episode 3 of Gilga radio tonight. It leaked on AudioMack that Atavista seems to be coming out tonight, so I wouldn't be surprised if that drops at midnight and then the tour dates go up tomorrow. Maybe even the Bando Stone release date

Should I make a new thread? Or wait until Bando Stone since Atavista is still technically 3.15

 

Feels like it's this album still for the most part but who knows till it's out. Would be wild if it comes out tonight

Okay I finished my listen. I will say, the release of Little Foot first got me a little excited that he was going to entirely rework more songs on the album like he did with that one but everything else is largely the same arrangement-wise; this release definitely seems intended on drawing new ears to these songs more than pleasing the already-dedicated fans but that's perfectly okay since we have a brand new album coming.

The songs do sound really great though. To Be Hunted adds a lot of cool instrumentation in the background, the mixing/mastering is a lot more crisp all throughout the whole album and it also sounds like he did new vocal takes on some songs like Time and Sweet Thang. Official releases of Atavista and especially Human Sacrifice are obviously great bonuses, although I honestly like the fan edit of HS that I have more than the officially released version, but that's on me for downloading leaks lol

Overall I think I'm going to treat this more as a compliment to the Atavista that I created (documented all over this thread) instead of a replacement, like an abridged deluxe version with remixes (I even named it in my library Atavista - Abridged & Revisited). Still really cool that this exists and I hope it does bring the extra attention to these songs that he wants it to, they deserve it

Interesting that he's completely removed the original from streaming services.

 

I think he said he considers 3.15 basically an unfinished demo and this the completed thing so makes sense that he'd take it down. personally wouldn't have minded having both though

haven't had a chance to listen but looking at the tracklist seems like he cut down Party considerably, kind of a shame

 

Can’t believe Human Sacrifice is finally out after being so pumped about it based on that Samsung commercial years ago.
