CPD suspends cop tied to Proud Boys, launches probe into sex abuse claim Hey, we found the one racist cop in Chicago. Good job team.
Nini's Deli To Reopen In West Town — A Year After Closing Due To Protests Over Owner's Homophobic And Racist Preaching It’s not clear what will be Riesco’s role in the day-to-day operations at Nini’s Deli. According to his Facebook profile, Riesco lives in Dallas. Reached by Facebook messenger, Riesco did not respond to a Block Club reporter’s questions. He did write, “God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ,” and invited the reporter to church. fuck this
Korean wings from Dak up in Edgewater are my favorite wings ever. Also, the guy who owns the place is not a complete piece of shit lunatic. Highly recommended.
It’s kind of wild how places are just…open now without any restrictions. It feels so weird going into a store or restaurant without having to wear a mask. How are you all adapting? Do you feel safe being in establishments maskless? Or are y’all still wearing masks? I know Sleeping Village in Avondale is requiring proof of vaccination in order to get in their establishment. Would be cool for others to do the same.
I always carry one on me and honor signs that specify their mask regulation is mandatory for that particular business.
I don’t necessarily feel “safe” but I really can’t help it when I go to the grocery store at 6am and half the people in there are unmasked. At this point if I’m doomed to get a breakthrough infection I feel it’s just as likely for me to get it from doing an essential activity as it is from anything leisure based.
Anthony Rizzo draws some backlash for opting not to get the COVID-19 vaccine, but the Chicago Cubs have his back: ‘It’s a decision I made, and I stand with it’
Yeah, I keep one with me when I go out. Have my kids (5 and 2) still wear there's when out in busy public spaces. I wear a mask when I'm inside pretty much across the board, don't really check for signs. Though, I'd say I'm still not going into a ton of spaces just mostly outside with family.
I was in texas this weekend for a wedding (all vaccinated guests). And boy was it wild to enter a Starbucks with our masks on only to realize we were the only ones. I think in the entire trip we only saw 4 other people wearing their mask indoors.
I've only been/played there once but I thought it was nice. Good sound and decent food. A handful of my friends have worked there over the years and had good experiences too.
Thanks so much!! Trying to cobble together a show there w Floatie and my band the weekend of 8/20 since they seem surprisingly interested in us and crossing my fingers so hard they’re about to snap off. Figured Chicago was not going to work out for us
Yo the new Floatie record rips and I really wanna see them live since I got really into them during quarantine so count me in for (hopefully) coming if this show happens.
They just got back to me (another huge surprise tbh, thank god we’re peripherally connected to Exploding in Sound) and are waiting on a couple members before confirming but yes I also adore that record and would be over the moon if they were interested. Will keep everyone updated
my wife managed to get a ticket to the foo show when they played the cubbie bear. holy shit I had FOMO that night.
I was going to a bday party on Clark that night and was trying to get in looks when someone opened the door haha
