The fact they were (ostensibly) chosen to give Chicago’s first COVID shots to represent attending to the hard hit, Black, low income, Austin community and then to have this all happen is so fucking sad and predictable all at the same time
i just waited in the online waiting room for the community sites for the vaccine for an appointment for over an hour and a half and i finally got it with only like 2k appointments left out of the 25k they had. i get dose 1on Wednesday
Had shots fired outside our place the other night. Unit downstairs had bullets enter their house and come within a few feet of their toddler's bed. Incredibly fucked up...
Near Rockwell Brown Line stop. Near Harvest Time grocery. Downstairs is already packing up and moving...
Damn that’s scary. I can’t imagine how I would react to being in that situation. Glad everyone is safe.
I had my first Pfizer dose at the United Center at 6:30pm yesterday. I got there early (6:10) expecting an after-work crowd and there was no line at all. Whole process took 25 minutes, including the 15 minute wait-out. TL;DR Get an appointment at the United Center if you can, it's seamless. Tons of signage and helpful folks to tell you what to do and where to go. All you need is your emailed QR code.
One of these was just added in my neighborhood: Chicago artists pay tribute to MF DOOM in murals honoring rapper who died in October
Got my first Moderna dose today! I ended up driving down to Pontiac for it since they've officially opened up to all IL residents over 18 and had tons of available appointments.
My second dose is also the 19th but I’ll be giving it at least two weeks before I see people even outside, especially with the current surge
What in the world is going on? lol I saw an Abba cover band once on vacation in Cape Cod and one of the original members came out on stage. I don't think I would see them live on my own though
