I’m a state employee. We just got an email that all state employees will become eligible March 22. Except me because I live in the city and they won’t be expanding eligibility. Fantastic.
I’m real familiar with Loretto, management there is mega-sleazy and also treats their employees like dogshit.
The Chicago.gov site doesn't say anything about being remote, it just identifies certain people as essential employees . . . Your ethics may vary, but I'm certainly going to try even though I've been remote for over a year and my current position is fully-remote permanently. Vaccine Distribution Phases Legal Workers providing legal services or supporting the operations of the judicial system, including judges, lawyers, paralegals, legal assistants, process servers, couriers, bail bond agents, parole officers, probation offices, court personnel, and others providing legal assistance or performing legal functions
Got my first dose of Pfizer today at the UC. Very easy and smooth process, now having a Hazy Hero and some tavern-style pizza.
Scheduled my first appointment at Walgreens for Tuesday. Hoping I won’t get boned for scheduling before I’m eligible (I will be by Tuesday)
Same, my statewide cohort got moved up to Monday so I made an appt for tomorrow. It sounds like Walgreens isn’t really caring, someone I know got first doses up in Kenosha. They said they were from Illinois and they still didn’t care.
So they moved the date for regular folks to get it in Chicago from mid April to June (at the earliest) because of not enough supply. What the fuck?
Chicago never endorsed the move to mid April that the state is doing in the first place. City officials have been saying all along they’re not getting enough vaccine supply. I imagine they probably have to do it my May 1 though to align with the federal goal.
I will say that I did not have to show my ID at the United Center when I went for my vaccine, and neither did my wife, so do with that information what you will . . .
I've been to Maple and Ash twice for special occasions. I once saw Larry David there. I can't imagine being a regular there lol. Just criminal opulence.
