Also, I’m really worried about the next few years in the state now that the Fair Tax failed. My wife is a public school teacher and I’m a union rep for public employees, and budget cuts and austerity would be pretty awful for not just us, but the majority of Chicago/Illinois.
My dad is a a pretty standard center right guy and I tried to talk him into voting for it but he just doesn't think that Illinois politicians aren't crooked enough that they won't use it to screw people over and raise their taxes. That seems to be the common theme, people not trusting the state government enough to actually do what they say it's gonna do. Weeeee austerity
Yeah, i think it’s a mix of the reputation of Illinois elected officials and classic “ten degrees to the left of center in the best of times, 10 degrees to the right if it affects them personally” liberals who can vote for Biden but don’t want their taxes raised.
My god they need to implement that stay at home order like now. This is like New York in March level bad
It is nice to pick up from Jibaritos y Mas and watch all the people celebrating while eating on the porch
That video is from Daddio’s in Bloomington, one of my least favorite places in my hometown. Not surprised at all that they’re operating like normal.
Thank you! I’ve been feeling fine - no symptoms so far so that’s good. I just got back from getting a test so I’ll know for sure soon, but being that I still live with my parents and have been in close contact with my dad there’s just no way I don’t have it. My family is all in generally good health so I think we will be fine, it’s just a mix of worriness and annoyance having to deal with this.
