My brother-in-law fixed my bathroom fan and leveled my dishwasher before leaving. Pretty happy with that and it makes the pain worth it haha.
I'm happy I'm not in Minnesota, on Lake Superior any more but I thought I would catch a break with the weather. But noooo. I was going to go to the Art Institute today but I really just don't want to go outside at all. ALSO, completely unrelated...if anyone is familiar with Lowercase Noises, he is touring in 2018 and only wants to do house shows...so if anyone knows of a good place, make it happen.
Icy roads cause hundreds of crashes, at least 4 deaths in Chicago area; some schools closed This was some next level bad commuting this morning
My fiancée drove by ten accidents on her way out to Elgin this morning, and from everything I read it was even worse southwest of us.
I drove from north side to Oak Lawn with zero issues. Heard about the bad roads as I got into the field office and was shocked. Dan Ryan was all clear.
My wife had to drive from West Loop to Tinley Park @ 6am to take a deposition and she saw 12 different accidents. She said it was real bad out there. Wild.
Yeah the area around Tinley was brutal. One of the fatalities was there, along with numerous closures on 57 and 80. I waited to go into work by an hour from my normal time and still saw three different accidents.

Bumping this thread. I'm coming to Chicago to see Tyler the Creator on the 3rd. Can anyone recommend cool things to do in the city? This isn't my first time in the city, but this is my first time where I'll actually get to explore a little bit. I'd love to go back to the Bean and see the Sears tower. I like record stores, thrift shops, and just random shops like that. For food I'm down for whatever.
Any neighborhood in particular or just like hanging around downtown? Honestly my first thought is just go to Shake Shack.
For real though there's a ton of stuff people have rec'd in the previous pages. I'd suggest sifting through those.
Reckless Records is the go to stop for records. There’s three locations, so you have options - The Loop, Wicker Park, and Lakeview.
I'm actually not sure. We're basically just taking Lyfts wherever we feel like going and trying to organize a little bit. I'll get back to you tomorrow which particular area we're staying in though.
