I'm at The Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling for a conference this September. Never been to Chicago, what should I try to hit?
I know there are like five cool shows happening on Saturday, but throwing in a final bit of promo for mine! https://www.eventim.us/event/pelafina-10-year-anniversary-show/682723
I am in your town for the Fireworks show. About to enjoy a slice of classic Chicago pizza from Sbarro
jk I went to Pizano’s because it was close to my hotel. Feel free to roast me if this is not a good place haha. Though Oprah said she liked it so you’d be disagreeing with her
first time at montrose harbor and damn, this city is so beautiful. I love living here and I truly never wanna leave.
taking my girlfriend with me to chicago for jimmy eat world next week, i’ve been many many times in my life being from st. louis but she’s originally from north carolina and has never been. we’ll have another day and a half after the show to explore. i’ve got us tickets for an architecture bout tour and we’ll be hitting a beach for sure. have reservations at the loyalist friday night and we’re staying right next to millennium park so ill take her to the bean. any other must see places and food places to check out for breakfast or lunch on a friday/saturday that wont require reservations? and any other fun things to do or see to kill some time? i’ll have my car so transportation to some of the neighborhoods out of the hustle and bustle of the main downtown area is more than possible. my ex lived in edgewater/uptown so kind of wanna avoid that area lol, just in case but that’s where im most familiar with stuff to do so yeah. i’ve been going up for shows for the better part of 15 years but i rarely do things outside of going to the shows and then leaving the next day
I’ll be at Jimmy Eat World too! I always recommend Cozy Corner and Handlebar in Logan/Wicker Park for brunch
Kind of a hard question because there’s stuff to do everywhere just kinda depends what you like to do. But yeah generally hanging out around wicker park/logan square/Avondale is a good bet. Also if you’re staying by millennium park I’d say you should probably go to the art institute if you haven’t. Spinning J near Humboldt park is my favorite place for brunch and they don’t take reservations: Chicago’s Iconic Brunch Restaurants
That set was wild, Call Out was a huge surprise and the oops all requests encore was the cherry on top
I went to the Logan Square Arts Festival this weekend and am planning to go to a free show at Millennium Park tonight and I just have to say…it’s very dope how we have so many free festivals and free concert series in the city during summertime that you can basically catch free/donation based shows all summer long…and it’s not just cover bands. Also not just music, but very cool art festivals and free movie showings in the city as well. Very underrated part of living in Chicago in the summer IMHO.
