I am reading the sci-fi book Dark Matter and it takes place in Chicago. The narrator keeps saying that Village Tap is in Logan Square, where he lives, and he is constantly referring to it as "my watering hole". That place is in Roscoe Village, my man! It's driving me nuts.

 

Oh hell yeah went there so many times at Loyola.

 

It's so horribly incorrect on the addresses and locations it's hilarious.

 

State/Lake L station is closing for 4 years (edit: 3 years, 2026-2029) in January to make a new station.

As a native Ohioan that's lived in Chicago for 17 years I am proud. I feel seen.

 

gonna spend the weekend in chi town towards the end of january. hope the weather isn't murder.

 

I'd tell you that January and February is usually the worst weather we have but it's sucked so far this fall.

I am very curious how this compares to Easy Street who’s done a full Home Alone menu the last few years. Went 2 years ago and it was very fun.

 

Ended up catching the Christmas train when I was just trying to go to the gym last night and it’s so cute! I love how Christmas-y everything gets around here.

 

Chicago is one of my favorite cities to visit but could never live there because of the weather.

 

The winter here is cool imo. I have friends in Minneapolis and they make it sound insane.

 

After 30 years of living in a desert, it's hard for me to imagine something worse than the Chicago winter.

 

With the obvious exception of this first half of December essentially, which has been colder and snowier than average, the winters here are getting kind of sad with how warm and dry they are getting.

Snow is going to be melted before Xmas with the warm up coming. Would take this any day over the insane heat in summers in the majority of the country now.
