That sounds right. That would have to be in a neighborhood that developers were reeeeeally pushing to make blow up.
Figure I'd drop here - my animal rescue is collecting non-perishables and pet supplies for people who are unable to leave their homes due to ICE bringing fascism to our streets.
This happened 3 blocks from where I live. EVERYONE - PLEASE STAY SAFE WGN Staffer Detained By Border Patrol Agents In Lincoln Square, Neighbors Say
Absolutely! Watching how many families are being effected in our kids school and sports is heartbreaking. Teammates missing games because their families are too afraid. It's fucked.

If you’re free on Monday, I’m hosting a rapid response whistle kit night at my cat shelter. because animal welfare is intersectional.
The Salt Shed has bought up land next door and is building a 15,000 capacity outdoor music venue/festival space. https://www.chicagobusiness.com/com...ed-owners-eye-adjacent-property-big-expansion
If shows that would use the lower capacity layout of Northerly Island end up there instead, that would be awesome. Also, that space is currently the Salt Shed parking lot, right?
Oh yeah, looks like it is at least partially. I was just going off of the text of that article. I know it’s been said before but I will say it again: The Salt Shed is still one of, if not the singular, best venue in the city right now, at least for seeing a bigger show. It has definitely pulled a lot of acts away from the Aragon or the Riv which I am very appreciative of. What they are doing with that entire space is just very well thought out IMHO, and this new venue will only make it even better.
The venue is awesome but the parking situation fucking sucks getting there also sucks. Red line is a 20 min walk. Putting a 15 k outdoor venue would make the parking situation 10000 times worse. Personally I think it’s a horrible idea. They also use the parking lots when they have season events around the area. When I saw rise against last year they had some Halloween themed event going on and it was shit show leaving. Don’t know what kind of summer events they have in the area where the Halloween one was but I’m sure it’s just as bad when it comes to parking and leaving a concert
North side of the parking lot is used for “special events” in the surrounding area. South side of the parking lot is used for salt shed events
As someone who adamantly refuses to ever give into the scam of SpotHero or any kind of paid lot parking yeah it does suck ass around there
They really need better transportation in the area. Most of the time I just Uber there and back but I'd love for better public transportation in the area. It's the same situation with The Hideout but that is a much smaller venue in the area.
In the 8 years I've uses SpotHero it saved me hundreds of dollars. It's been a lifesaver, especially with concerts. What scam are you talking about?
I rather pay 5-15 dollars and know that I have a parking spot waiting for me close to the venue. Driving to the city from the west suburbs during high traffic hours is stressful enough. It's always funny paying an a certain amount for 12 hours and then seeing that the same parking garage charges liie double that for 1 single hour.
