Bought a ticket to see some band named Wilt just bc I had no plans tonight and I think this is the first time I’ve seen a line outside of Schubas
I have lived in Illinois my entire life and I’ve only been to Schubas one time. Lovely lil spot but apparently most artists I see do not get booked there
It’s one of my favourite venues in the city! Great spot to catch smaller indie rock, pop, and Americana acts, plus I love how the size of the room makes the crowds feel really intimate especially when shows sell out. I also think the bar area is v charming, only thing I’m not a fan of is how tiny the bathrooms are
yeah I should check out the upcoming shows more. I haven’t been back since 2019. I did really enjoy it when I went though . Glad you had a great time last night
Red Stars are moving up to Evanston next season, playing along the lakefront. Definitely an improvement over Seatgeek for ease of access but man, that's going to be a tiny place for all their games.
accepted the job and turned in my notice! start date of 10/20 so starting to look at some apartments online and hopefully in person soon! can’t wait to get my butt out there permanently!
I missed this earlier thanks to the forum's constant lack of notifications after a bit but congrats! Did you settle on what neighborhoods you'd be looking in?
Def looking at a few recommended in this thread! Just started today so not sure where I’ll land but appreciate the advice!
Neato (schaumburg area) https://www.dailyherald.com/2025090...e-12-acre-90-north-park-with-community-event/
Long live woodfield mall! I totally remember that waterfall Today in Chicago History: Woodfield Mall — then the largest of its kind in the United States — opens in Schaumburg
This was an awesome in-depth behind the scenes video of a high profile show at the amphitheater down in Tinley Park, very interesting to watch if you’ve ever been there. Matt Horn (ex-TWA) put it up on his YouTube channel.
snagged a nice unit in Logan square! I loved the area and they had everything I needed including private parking which is incredible. I’m sooo excited, I spent the last 3 days venturing around and that was definitely my favorite neighborhood. ty everyone for the recs and excited to be moving in a few weeks!
