That tweet was deleted you posted but I saw a pic of him getting arrested in what looked like a black track suit
This whole fireworks thing is getting ridiculous, people are shooting them from all over the place. For hours now it sounds like a war zone outside. I feel so bad for people with anxious pets and veterans with PTSD.
going to TBS/3EB friday at northerly island. Any one know the parking situation? Is it a disaster? I see you can buy parking passes in advance but I cant figure out where.
Last time I was there I used Spot Hero, cost me about 12-13 dollars and I had to walk like 10 minutes to the car.
Northerly island is one of the very few venues I don’t drive to cuz it’s within walking distance of metra since I live in the south subs but there’s parking right next to the venue. Or you could use spot hero if you want Cheaper parking
There will be a nascar race through the streets of downtown Chicago next July 1st and 2nd. They have a 3 year contract with the city so it will be here 3 years in a row
The tagged user’s profile here is private, anyone know what is going on with Salt Shed. Supposed to see Fleet Foxes there in two weeks for the second ever show at the venue, but sounds like maybe there are construction issues?
From what I understand, shows this Summer will be outside the venue along the river, as construction on the inside part is still ongoing. Indoor shows begin next year I believe.
Actually pretty good overall. Sound for an outdoor show was really good. Great setting. I biked there and there was ample parking for that, but not much car parking unless you go up by Hideout like 10 mins away. Can't comment on uber situation. Didn't eat food and the drink lines were pretty long, but they had a separate Lagunitas tent that was the move.
Cool so it was outside rather than in the venue? Definitely don’t mind the idea of a smaller outdoor option compared to northerly island. And a Lagunitas tent sounds good to me haha
Has anyone been to the Canal Shores Golf Course thing for any shows this summer? I got free tix to Jenny Lewis tonight and I want to go but kind of on the fence cus it's pretty far.
Went to The Salt Shed tonight for the first time, cool spot. I think it will serve the music scene well, since aside from Northerly Island there are no good mid sized outdoor venues in the city and this will attract more interesting bands than your typical Dave Matthews/Jack Johnson types that regularly play Northerly Island.
My band, Ultimately Fruitless, released the first single off our upcoming album today. RIYL: The Strokes, The Jesus Lizard, Dinosaur Jr.
