If anyone else had getting super stoned and seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey on 70mm at the Music Box on their Bucket List, now's your time! haha You are being redirected...
Saw this at Music Box in 2017 or 2018 and it was awesome. I think they seek out different versions so it’s not them recycling the same 70mm version each time. At least that’s what I was told. Def worth it and they do an intermission for bathroom and drinks.
Will probably need an intermission just to bring myself down to earth, both from the space visuals and the amount of marijuana I am planning to consume.
Sooooo did everyone vote today? I work for the Chicago Board of Elections and I’ve been working 18 hours straight and I’m still on the clock
Voted by mail for the first time. I love the ritual of going to the polling place but it was super convenient to get it out of the way a couple weeks ago at the same time as I did all my research.
Got my vote by mail ballot. Forgot to fill it out. Ended up filling it out and dropping off yesterday. Did that the last few years, way prefer by mail then in person. Although usually my Ward doesn't have a long line, it's still nice to just drop it off.
Not sure. I haven't been following the GOP primary closely and Bailey wasn't on my radar at all. I see tons of Rabine signs around here so I just assumed he was the frontrunner. Seems like Pritzker and the Dems think Bailey is the easiest candidate to beat. There hasn't been a serious downstate contender in the time I've been paying attention to IL politics, so that Chicago vs the rest of the state dynamic will be interesting. He at one point called for Chicago to be removed from Illinois and become its own state. I'm guessing it comes down to whether Bailey is too conservative for the suburbs, but who knows.
Not saying I think Pritzker loses, but it'd be very on brand for the Dems push for an opponent they think is "too conservative" only to shit all over themselves in the general election.
Yeena Yoo, who I met a few weeks ago and really, really liked, won her DuPage County Board primary, so I'm excited about that.
Shot in the dark but if anyone wants tickets to Halsey tomorrow I have two lawn seats that I’ll send over for free
shooting at the highland park parade fuck was walking around downtown highland park not even 48 hours ago
My uncles's family lived in Deerfield up until 2 years ago and we went with them to the parade in HP a few times and that is not an area I would expect mass shooting to happen in.
I absolutely saw the shooter two days ago when I was there. He was wearing an all black tracksuit, riding a small motorized bike, playing music out loud from a speaker. He was sitting nearly across from where he shot This tracksuit but all black insane called tip line already
