oh fuck yeah my current favorite theory is that someone on magnus' team was secretly working for hans which is why he was able to study magnus' line prior to the game
Played some growing up but never got deep into strategy. I’ve been playing on a chess app for free lately but they make you pay for strategy lessons. Anyone have any good resources to learn basic to intermediate strategies?
i don't know how i managed a draw out of this, but truly one of the dumbest games i've ever played. im black here Chess Analysis Board and PGN Editor
Magnus was defeated by 19 year old Gukesh Dommaraju at Norway Chess 2025 and slapped the table in frustration after the loss while looking visibly frustrated with himself and yelling “Oh my god”. https://www.youtube.com/live/NP0FsPaEYCQ?si=MBLefkchii1oTEDJ Magnus has since stated that he is unsure why he continues to play classical Chess when he gets little joy out of it:
When I was in high school, I used to love playing chess, high school tournaments, and even won some awards/trophies. I used to love going to Harvard Square and getting my butt kicked from the chain smoking/coffee drinking grandmasters there! Now? I can barely remember any of the openings, etc... though enjoy watching some of the games on line from the well known names nowadays.
