Lol damn I thought that was such a bad show. I dipped out like 30 min in.

 

Really? I was thinking of seeing them on Friday

 

Could have been the sound system, but they sounded so sloppy and out of tune with each other. Her vocals were pretty awful too. I think they're so much better on record.

 

I was considering seeing them in March, but sounds like maybe this is one I should skip.

 

I'll probably still check it out since I'll be hanging out downstairs of the venue all night anyway, but that's a bummer

 

Hopefully it was just an off night for me. I feel especially bitter because I was super excited, but the majority of the crowd was into it.

The opener was cool though. Like a slacker version of Adam's Tigers Jaw songs but with trumpet.

 

Ohhh that sounds cool. I'll report back if I end up going

Can confirm they didn't sound great.

Her delivery on some of the songs was really great like when she was screaming, but a lot of the times she was just mumbling and not really getting the delivery right on the songs. The band also didn't really seem to be playing that well either.

Definitely better on record but I can see them tightening up as well. I'll give it another chance.

The whole time I was watching them I was just thinking of how awesome it would be if they toured with PWR BTTM this year

 

Weird, I saw them in Philly back in September and they were awesome.

 

noticed today that this record pairs really well with Old World Underground era Metric, some of the synth lines sound so similar. nurse ratched is starting to stand out as my favorite now but i really like the whole thing front to back

 

I'm getting serious early Warpaint vibes here but with sillier lyrics; fucking loving it.

 

Ehh, more Slothrust-y. I guess the opener was just very Warpaint-inspired to me. There's hints of it, but I overstated a bit

 

Regardless, this is cool as fuck.

 

I haven't listened to this once since I saw them live lol.
