Yeah I would say based on my many listens to the record that it’s even darker and heavier than gods country
Also I'm sure it's been stated already somewhere but I love that they just keep titling songs Mask/Masc
Chat Pile's Unhinged Noise Rock Descends Upon a "Cool World" (Interview) The only directive that we had going into Cool World for Luther and I was to make the songs more direct. On God’s Country the songs were a little more sprawling and there was a low-key prog element in there with weird time signatures but this time we wanted to do more of a 4/4, 3 minute, punk rock sort of approach to the songs on this one. For the most part I think we achieved that.
Love what I've heard so far (been super stoked on this album since I heard the debut of Funny Man live in London last year) but not really feeling the mix, just feels to me like Gods Country sounded much, much better sonically. Still, seems like this album is going to absolutely rip
