It truly exceeded expectations for me! I have heard a few of these songs live over the past 2 years and it's so nice to hear the production value and get a clearer picture of the lyrics. A lot of these songs really feel like how I've felt or have been feeling, it's been a minute since I felt like an album so perfectly encompassed my experiences. I'm really grateful for it. I know it's supposed to be a love song, but "Young Enough" really reminds me of my little brother and the shit we've been through. It's been a rough couple of days and this album was just what I needed to get through this patch.
I was expecting to not like this record all that much since the singles haven't done much for me but wow... I was wrong! This record is great. Camera, Young Enough, and Bleach are so far my favorites. Also, Chatroom is stuck in my head so I guess I warmed up to the singles now too.
This is leagues better than the last one. I wish that weren’t the case because I’m already overwhelmed by all the good music this month!!
Yeah, this whole thing is great. It's like Weezer from the Blue Album to Pinkerton - they made the perfect shift in sound and vulnerability.
Saw Stefan from Pup post about this and HOLY HELL. Never listened to this band before and after the first track I"m totally in.
This is so good. I finished my first listen, started “Blown To Bits” again to hear the Rilo Kiley reference then just kept listening to the album for a second (and third) time. I haven’t done that in a while.
