It seemed like the marketing was pretty solid.

I just don’t think men or women are particularly interested in this franchise.

I know that trailers/ads I saw made me have zero interest in the product.

 

I saw way more advertising for "Doctor Sleep" than I did for this. But even that underperformed.

I think this decade has kind of been a reckoning for reboots and sequels in terms of what audiences want to see. They clearly are over with most of the '70s and '80s franchises like this and "Terminator" that could do well in the '90s and early '00s. If it doesn't have good word of mouth like a "21 Jump Street" or a fanbase like "It," then people aren't going to see it.

 

I think we'll see with the new Ghostbusters movie. I think that will be a strong litmus test for the argument.

 

This rules. It was exactly what I was hoping for, just big dumb fun.
