Doesn't sound like it is. She was talking about wanting to collab with Christine and the Queens on it.
This is obviously cool and good, but I don’t foresee many situations where I choose to listen to this version over Track 10. I won’t be mad if this track takes off for her. Glad to hear this is more towards the straight pop/mainstream side of what she’s working on.
Having some case of demoitis (or reverse demoitis?) but I'm into it. Feels so weird hearing the chorus without the build up we've been used to. The production elevates the drop. Lizzo's part didn't really stand out sadly, hopefully they'll collaborate together once more in the future.
Yeah, I don’t really know why Lizzo is on this tbh. Hopefully it boosts the track’s profile though, she’s so hot right now.
I think it’s an... odd(?) choice for a kick-off single... I don’t dislike it at all, and the “Easter egg” type feel of it being an alternate version is cool. I like the production, but it just doesn’t strike me as a huge song, ya know? 1999 had much more of THAT type of feel... whereas say, Boom Clap, had an almost “timeless" quality to it...
Definitely prefer the Pop 2 version but this is a bop anyway. Ready for new music. Like more than 1 song at a time please. I know I'm not worthy.
