Honestly given Steve's, um, vocal distaste for Sophie and other sonically boundary pushing artists like that I'm not surprised and don't actually fault that viewpoint. Everything she has done is gold, but she used to just make good pop music and now she's hellbent on reinventing it with a hedonistic bent and a lollipop in hand. To me, that's when she revealed herself as a true visionary and arguably one of the greatest artists of our time
I'm all for pushing bounderies and changing pop music, I just think she's put out some bad music. You will never be able to convince me that I Got It is a good song, regardless of how different it is from mainstream pop.
yeah, I ain't dragging you or anything. She's just now hanging in my sphere of music and I'm so grateful because some of my favorite music ever has come of it
Charli is easily one of my favorite pop artists right now, one of my favorites in music all together honestly. I think her songwriting ability is absolutely phenomenal, whether it's for her or others, even the shit I don't like is still catchy and I understand the enjoyment. I just selfishly want to like her more recent music more. That being said, I'm glad this thread is super active and everyone's diggin her music, she obviously deserves the whole world
It sounds like an Iggy Azalea b-side, like a direct response to the success of "Fancy" and embodies what I find the most offensive about white people rapping, but that's just me.
straight up a year ago i would have never listened to anything remotely resembling charli's music but here we are and she released my fav album of 2017. n1a and pop 2 are fucking incredible. she's rolling and i can't wait to see what else she has in store
