Hearing Charli revisit her True Romance days is healing, even if I wish it was a bit longer

 

Wow yea echoing the True Romance sentiments, but with all of the experience she's developed since True Romance. Love it.

It’s funny because Jacob Elordi does I think fit the energy of previous actors who have played Heathcliff, the issue is that Tom Hardy and Laurence Olivier don’t fit the novel’s Heathcliff on that fundamental issue. Heathcliff’s race kind of makes Wuthering Heights difficult to adapt, the ambiguity is part of the genius of the novel. We don’t see what Heathcliff looks like, and descriptions of him vary. We have to create him in our heads based on descriptions from different characters, all of whom we have reason to trust or not trust when they describe him. About the only aspect of his race that comes off extremely clear is that he isn’t white. But after the Andrea Arnold adaptation actually cast a racially ambiguous Heathcliff, it’s crazy for the next adaptation to go back to a white guy.

 

I want to listen to the songs but I’ve been listening to the Rosalia album nonstop. I’m also reeling from the idea of Charli/John Cale.

 

Is this a soundtrack album or is it just stuff inspired by the movie?

 

I think it's both? I'm assuming a lot of the music will be in the film but probably not the songs themselves?

 

Decided to get this since my sister's birthday is a week after this comes out and she loves both Charli and Wuthering Heights the book/is extremely excited/intrigued for the movie

Now I've got her covered for both Christmas and birthday between this and the Hayley ticket lol

 

Love the new song. I can’t wait for the rest of the album.

 

Charli's love of mid directors continues unabated.

Also, always nice to see Jack'n'off being kept busy with extracurriculars.

 

Feel like she's that close to bringing back the Republica haircut

i think it might be the color of the cover itself. i think a lot of indie stores had variants that had swapped the colors of the actual cover and the sticker holding the jacket together, so that version looks more yellow-ish than it does green

 

Despite being a fan, I often forget about CRASH. I heard "Constant Repeat" playing at TJ Maxx today and was singing along but had to Google who sings it, totally forgot it's Charli

 

the vocal runs in that chorus are some of my favorite melodies of hers
