I don't think this album is very good (ducks and hides)

Too many songs follow the same structure of a mostly straightforward song that ends with AG fuckin' around with the music for a minute or so, which of course is great in theory, song by song, but makes a lot of it feel samey when half the album follows the same song structure.

pink diamond is the only song that I think is terrible, the rest range from good to great.

easily my least favorite Charli album/mixtape. I love the concept of making the album so quickly, but it does feel like that to me... put together quickly. I guess I just like her music more when she spends a lot of time on it, Charli is phenomenal because there are so many little details in each song, I can tell she tinkered around with those songs a lot

What's your point? I know pink diamond is the most unique, that doesn't just automatically make it good.

 

pink diamond is probably my least favorite Charli song since boom clap but this album is her second best so irthesteve is still 99% wrong

“7 years” to “enemy” is probably the “worst” part of the album but I also don’t think there’s a bad song on here. Last 4-5 are among the best she’s ever put out (and to say it is her worst since “Boom Clap” is a genuine offence. “Blame It On Your Love” does exist after all). “pink diamond” is a ripper of an opener. All this is just to say that I think this album is incredible and I’ve only grown more fond of it following the initial excitement.

 

I’m a new fan, but this is my favorite by her.

 

wow I don’t see you post a lot that I disagree with but i can’t get behind any of this (besides calling the album incredible which it is)!!! :(

 

I love this album a ton but I was definitely more obsessed with the last few when they came out

I'm surprised you (and presumably other people) don't find the last stretch to be among her best stuff! The way her and AG flipped one of her hardest songs into a beautiful track about missing your friends is really touching imo. And "anthems" kinda feels like something I've always wanted from her, Dylan's glitchy and distorted production married with Danny's borderline scientific ability to craft "perfect" pop music just rules. It's all so vulnerable and exciting with a soundscape that (I think) accurately conveys the early feelings of insanity and isolation generated by This Uncertain and Unprecedented Moment.

 

wait but I DO agree with all of that!this is my second favorite Charli album right behind Pop 2 and I agree with the final stretch (especially anthem which is amazingggg)

My boom clap comment was just about Pink Diamond (and definitely an exaggeration) which for some reason I just don’t like even though hard & weird Charli is usually my favorite Charli

 

Pink Diamond is one of my favorite Charli songs now and I need to see her play it live

 

"Pink Diamond" is siiiiick. One of my favourites on here.

 

“Pink Diamond” is dope, especially played in my car at an unhealthy volume.

My favorites on this are “c2.0,” “I Finally Understand,” & “Detonate,” though, ‘cause my favorite kinda pop music is the kind that’s all like “I’m a sad bitch living my best life.”

 

"Pink Diamond", "Forever", "Detonate", "c2.0", "Party 4 U" and "Visions" are all top tier Charli.

fair enough, i think each song other than pink diamond is pretty good or great on their own, but as an album it doesn't all come together all that well for me

even my least favorite charli album is one of the best 2020 albums
