Yeah it stood out. I like it in doses - just not when it’s always at the forefront. Blame it is good too. But I do gain a sense that a lot of these songs are less *something* than the newer stuff. I could be wrong but they seem far more repetitive and straight forward. This is all very quick.
50-50 on ILY2 - love the melody of the chorus, and the guitar? In the prechorus but the part right before that kicks in is meh. Bridge is cool too. more like 75-25
I feel like 99% of the time either I like a song or I don’t. I never really have wildly different opinions on different sections of songs lol
Oh noooooo. I turned it off at the end. It’s funny - I think this LP is my least favorite so far. Not as polarizing but more boring in spots? I think 2 is my fave all around but not by a ton. The highs on Charli for me are a bit higher but I might enjoy a couple more songs overall on pop 2. Should I bother going older?
Sucker was my entry point... it’s pretty pop in comparison but it has that punky flavor and lite electronic elements that set it apart for me... you can’t write that one off now lol.
I think I need to take another break - lotsa pop - I think I've consumed too much sugar to truly appreciate it lol Sucker was not my cup of tea (the opener) so I decided to ask
I feel like Sucker is a really strong pop album that just has the misfortune of being compared to what came later. Was the first Charli album I heard, & while I haven’t listened to most of the songs on purpose in a while, I definitely still dig it.
I know most of Charli’s fanbase doesn’t care for Sucker but it has a lot of my favorite songs of hers
Ain't nothing wrong with cotton candy either, but if you eat enough of it in a row you end up puking lol
