previews of the bonus tracks are fantastic. Sorry If I Hurt You feels like a true follow-up to True Romance.
Didn't think this album could get any better but here these four other songs come and punch me in the face.
Deluxe songs are pretty cool, but do feel like b-sides to me. But it's Charli b-sides so that's not a bad thing. Sorry If I Hurt You is the standout to me right now
lol yeah the rapping but also the vocal melodies in the pre-chorus, the ad-libs, and the lyrics. also the bridge reminds me of good girls for some reason cool they brought the guitar from crash back for the outro as well
I almost want to hear the album the deluxe tracks were meant to be on, rather than head in the disco pop, Janet vibes - almost emo electropop
It's so satisfying to hear Selfish Girl, which is that song she previewed pre-pandemic Sorry If I Hurt You is the closest to True Romance she's ever gotten, so it makes me feel so nostalgic. How Can I Not Know slaps, and I can totally hear George Daniel's production tricks on it. Honestly, I'd love her to keep collaborating with him and Lotus IV. All in all, I'm really pleased with this era. I may be in the minority, but I realized I was having hyperpop fatigue after the S/T left my rotation as quickly as it came out. How I'm Feeling Now proved me wrong because I did love it, but in my mind I was still ready for a switch up, moreso vocally. I was really missing the way she used to sing or how her voice sounded like on True Romance or the more conventional Number 1 Angel tracks. This album ticks all the boxes for me, and I hope she expands on many of those newly explored sounds on future releases.
The bonus tracks are amazing. “How can I not….” And “sorry…” in particular should have been on the album proper instead of beg for you and yuck IMO.
"Love Gang" at 47 out of 50?????? WHAT ARE WE DOING, PEOPLE????? "Dirty Sexy Money" at 46????? "1 Night" at 37???? All while having "1999" at no. 2?????? Mad respect for "Lipgloss" in the top 3, though
cba to go through it since it's a dumb slideshow but if they ain't got Backseat with CRJ at number 1 then I don't want to know!
Fancy is top ten regardless of what you think of Iggy, we wouldn't have any of the Charli we know and love without that and I Love It
I don’t think it sounds like “Swish Swish”, but I do think it leans on a popular and recognizable sample to its detriment, just like “Swish Swish” did.
