Constant Repeat, Move Me, and Lightning are extremely my shit, but the whole record flows extremely well. Had random moments stuck in my head over the last few days
I think if I didn't LOVE all of the singles, I would like the rest of this album more. I know I'll eventually love it, but right now, the singles are the only thing that really stand out to me.
Am I the only one that thinks she sounds like Lauren Mayberry in parts of the chorus on Move Me? Delivery, cadence, and everything.
o_0 Very much a similar listening experience, except with Crash, Twice, and Used to Know Me as the three songs I keep returning to most often. But finding it harder and harder to skip over anything the more I listen to it as a complete album and there are specific moments I adore: The pitch-perfect transitioning of some of the hyperpop sounds in the very opening of Crash dissolving to make way for the aesthetic of this album, the little "baby" after the "All night, all day" in Chris's verse of New Shapes, the vocal distortion of the pre-chorus on Lightning, the entire chorus of Move Me, the outro of Twice turning into this complete dreamscape that sort of brings this project back into the general Charli XCX sound we were accustomed to on past projects.
Blasted this all weekend during my friend's bachelor party in a Vermont cabin. Can't wait to see these songs live
Was meh on most of the singles but they work great in the context of the album. Yuck was an immediate highlight, surprised some people don't feel the same.
cannot believe people don’t like used to know me and think it sounds like swish swish. baffling take. swish swish did not invent that iconic house synth sound.
I can hear that, it has that shouty delivery Lauren is known for. But the first singer that came to mind when I heard the song was MØ. If there would've been another feature, I feel like she would've been perfect on this one.
I have the red/black marble translucent from her webstore pre-order, and I believe the indie variant is not translucent
