I was wondering why one of my larger Letterboxd projects was getting hundreds of followers an hour. Turns out Charli was already following it and now her followers are as well.
Got the vinyl for Christmas and it’s so perfect… some great packaging decisions. God I love this album. It’s strange to have the same number one album of the year as like Rolling Stone but what can I do when the music is this good!!!
This account had maybe 1600 followers yesterday afternoon. It’s at 3900 as I write this. Criterion Closet Picks’s profile My personal account got the drickle-down effect of many an additional 15 follows? Very unexpected, but very cool!
this is honestly the main reason I use spotify instead of Apple music, I am so scared of Apple fucking up my perfectly curated library and I have heard horror stories of the song matching or whatever
if it's something in their streaming library (and not something you've uploaded), occasionally Apple might swap a song with a version found on a generic, auto-generated compilation. but i've only had it happen like twice, and it's generally happened if i've selected something like update Genius or update cover images via my phone. for uploads, i've found the best way to force Apple Music to avoid song matching is to upconvert whatever you're wanting to add to a 24-bit 96 kHz AIFF file. the program will take a while to read the audio fingerprint and will instead force upload it. only problem with this method is that if you've added an explicit lyrics tag in the metadata, it won't save to an AIFF file, but otherwise it's a solid workaround (especially since Apple will just downconvert everything you upload to 256 kbps AAC anyway).
I am the exact same way haha, I use Spotify to discover new music but then when I like something and want to add it to my library/collection I'll download it to my iTunes
