Also they had a standby line for people who just wanted to show up without an invite and even me being in the invite line all they checked was my ID for an alcohol wristband lmao Which I got a brat midori drink with
The potential perk of getting an invite might have been getting in early enough to get the free shirts they were giving out before they ran out, but again you really could have just said you had an invite and you were good lol They've been giving out the aforementioned free drinks and food too, and some brat colored vitamin water
Some guy I'm standing next to said they technically checked his email invitation but it was like just a glance, so I guess mileage may vary and I happened to be one of the ones that slipped through lol
Yea it wasn't like, super super crowded which was nice She played just about half of the album and then had to leave to go to Denver but it was super funnnnnnn
I just learned that Next Level Charli stared from a mixtape of AG's and in my humble opinion, it is terrible hahaha
I was patient and didn’t listen early. Can’t wait to dig into the whole thing. The Bon Iver remix is amazing.
I think it’s pretty solid for a remix album, while also suffering the same problems pretty much all remix albums have (less cohesive sound, wild shifts in tone). I think it’s awesome that a lot of the remixes feel like sequels to the originals, commenting more on the fame Charli wanted on “Brat” and how she feels now that she has to has it. Love Julian, Caroline, Bon Iver, Japanese House, Lorde and Ariana’s features. Not totally sold on 1975 and Tinashe, but it was only one listen. I feel like “365” is a major dud compared to the original because the OG tied the sonic themes of the album together so well while leading the listener down that chaotic sonic journey. This just feels kind of tossed off.
About your first point, I was literally just thinking about how the album probably would flow better if she didn't mirror the original track list. Minor thing for me, but I think there's probably a way that it feels a bit more cohesive than the current order
This is pretty on par with the 1000 gecs remix album, where the songs really evolve and feel like they have their own identities. Love it
I appreciate how much work she put into not just handing these off to people to remix but remained involved and updated so many of the lyrics to tell a different story.
Seeing a lot of people seem to not quite understsnd how remixes work. I think some newer fans expected just guest verses, bizarre some of the reactions this is getting.
