I'm super curious how many of these are gonna be new verses added to a mostly same song versus fully new songs like von dutch remix
I keep seeing tweets that are like “don’t talk about Charli if you weren’t there” and it’s the Von Dutch video lol the kids love to gatekeep
Julian on Mean girls and Japanese House on Apple have me the most curious. Surprised Spring breakers isn’t on there
Curious when this version of the vinyl ships, I saw early October but that’s all it seemed to say on the webstore
Disappointed 1975 is on something stupid, unless they turn it into more of a song…feels like an interlude currently
it's 1975 AND Jon Hopkins; I'm so ecstatic about that because of the JH worship on some of ABIIOR/NOACF - I'm sure they're going to make it something special
Genuinely a little surprised at this topping the p4k readers list and placing so high in the editorial one. It’s a great album, but I can’t really think of something that would be more of an of the moment pick that would look silly not very long from now.
It makes sense Charli ;along with Taylor , Lana, Carly and Lorde ; are a big part of pitchfork poptimism Plus clearly a lot of Angels and pink ponies did lists
I really do sort-of agree with your take, as brat is more of a Zeitgeist album and personally don't think it will stand the test of time, but right now, it's the best we got.
I think it both a) will stand the test of time as very good and b) is clearly a major major pop cultural (maybe even just cultural) moment. All I meant really is I feel like any deeming it an instant classic is leaning harder into B than A to a point that will feel obvious when we’re looking at the 2020s as a whole. I don’t even mean that as a huge slam on the music itself, the album rules, but a zeitgeisty pick is the perfect way of putting it which maybe also feels a bit silly to me in that we’ve already kind of seen the moment of it all jump the shark.
Man I don’t want to hear a peep out of any of them if they “weren’t there” for the crappy, rare live recordings of Vroom Vroom and Paradise, on Twitter, back in late 2015 lol
